BBA Win Enforcement Notice Appeal in the London Borough of Lambeth
Brian Barber Associates have successfully challenged an Enforcement Notice, served by the London Borough of Lambeth, in relation to the conversion of a public house to a backpackers’ hostel.
The main issues were whether the intensity of the use and concentration of facilities within the building would be acceptable. We were able to show that no standards were breached by the use and that the scheme was acceptable having regard to policies in the Lambeth Unitary Development Plan.
Ben Stackhouse, the owner of premises said "The result that James Holmes achieved was excellent news for our business, as without this approval we would have found it almost impossible to survive. Despite the council's strong opposition to our application, BBA were able to present the facts in such a way that our appeal was swiftly granted. An excellent outcome and very professionally handled".
